Crosscut Paper Shredders Best Deals On Crosscut Paper Shredders

I just purchased this from Target on closeout to replace my old Shredmaster. I like the on/off power switch to save energy when not in use (my old one was “on” all the time and was triggered by paper). I like the side-pull paper basket since I put my shredder under my desk. I don’t have to remove the entire shredder unit to empty the basket. And the basket is a fair size, about 2/3 paper grocery bag. I like the indicator lights telling me if the unit is overloaded or overheated (I burned out my last one unknowingly). I like the window on the front of the paper basket allowing me to see if it is getting full or not. Paper seems to flow evenly and quickly, and the reverse button allows for easy removal of paper jams but you need to hold the button down. I haven’t yet tried shredding a credit card or CD, but that happens so infrequently for me it wasn’t a necessary feature.

Be warned that this particular unit is LOUD. I wouldn’t want to be on the phone with this thing going. It’s about 3xs louder than the old Shredmaster, perhaps as loud as my vacuum cleaner. If I had a sleeping baby in the house, there’s no way I would use it during nap time. If I had paid full price, I’d return it just for that. It might be okay for a small office, but keep it next to the other office equipment.
