Are You Interested In Paper Shredders?
What once started out as something that we just had to have in an office is now a common household appliance. Paper shredders have made it into homes everywhere. There are such a variety of shredders out there; it’s hard to know which one to get. It will all depend on what their intended purpose will be. If a few post-it notes are going to be shredded, then a low-end model will be just fine. When large quantities of documents need to be safely shredded or items such as credit cards or DVDs need to be disposed of, a much more industrial shredder is needed.
These machines run in the price range of 60 to 34, 000 dollars. There is quite a bit of difference between these two types of machines and a whole slew of variety in the middle. Shredding machines come with different security levels, ranging from 1 to 6, with 6 being the highest security.
High security machines shred paper in two different directions, making it less likely to be put back together again. Models with a security of 6 will shred a sheet of paper into 12, 000 pieces, while a machine with the security of 5 will shred that same piece of paper into 6, 000 pieces.
The 34, 000 dollar models will shred about anything that falls in; aluminum cans, plastic bottles, floppy discs, cds, DVDs, paper clips, staples, and even cardboard.
The amount of paper these paper shredders can handle also depends on the price range. Some shred only 1 – 5 sheets at a time, while others are able to shred up to 260 sheets at a time. Waste bins, in which all these pieces are collected, can hold anywhere from 1 gallon to 100 gallons. Additional features found on most models of paper shredders include; auto on/off, auto reverse, auto stop, and an indicator light to show when the waste bin is full.
